-DeLaney & Billy
On September 7th, 2024, DeLaney and Billy tied the knot in a wedding full of love, laughter, and timeless elegance. Their special day was held at a chapel on Butler University's campus, with a breathtaking reception at The Grand Hall at Crowne Plaza at Union Station in downtown Indianapolis (one of our favorite Indianapolis Wedding Venues) Despite the excitement and flurry of the day, DeLaney and Billy were the epitome of calm and joy. They embraced every moment, never allowing a single detail to overwhelm them. It was clear from start to finish that being together and celebrating with loved ones was what truly mattered to them.
Billy's Special Touches: Trains and a Classic Chevelle
Billy, a man of simple but meaningful wishes, wanted two things: a nod to his love for trains (which he got from his Grandfather) and the inclusion of his prized 1968 Chevelle. Both were seamlessly integrated into the day. The Chevelle, a sleek, timeless classic, wasn’t just a getaway car but a star prop for their couple's portraits.
After the ceremony, we made a stop at the Indiana War Memorial, a stunning backdrop for portraits of the wedding party and the couple, with the Chevelle stealing the spotlight.
How to Hire an Amazing Team of Wedding Professionals
"We met in 2015 at Butler University at a party. I very confidently introduced myself to Billy one night, who politely shared that we had met two times prior. From there, we dated for eight and a half years, six of which were long distance. We communicated and ultimately those six years created a very strong relationship based on trust and communication. We both share a love of bourbon. Billy surprised me and proposed at our favorite distillery, Makers Mark, on November 26, 2022. It was one of the most special days, and we enjoyed a glass of Makers Mark after with family. We married on September 7, 2024 at Sweeney Chapel at Butler University and celebrated with all of our favorite people after for our reception at Grand Hall at Historic Union Station Crowne Plaza. We had the most joyous, beautiful, wonderful day surrounded by our loved ones. The dance floor was full all night! We feel truly blessed to have so many who love and support us and cannot wait to see where our marital journey leads us."
One of the secrets behind DeLaney and Billy’s smooth, stress-free day was their amazing team of wedding professionals. They had a vision, and with the help of one of the best planners in the business, Sarah from All In The Details, their dream day came to life effortlessly (check out our blog on why you should hire a wedding planner: seriously just do it)
Sarah didn’t just execute their ideas—she enhanced them, ensuring every detail was accounted for and the day ran without a hitch. As a photographer, it’s always such a joy to work alongside professionals who not only understand the couple's vision but also go above and beyond to make sure everything flows perfectly.
Other stellar professionals included Jim Cerone: The Perfect Host, who was the evening’s emcee. He kept the crowd entertained, making every announcement and transition between moments smooth, fun, and memorable. Videographer Bob Ridge documented the day with ease, ensuring DeLaney and Billy will have every tear, laugh, and kiss to look back on for years to come.
So, how do you ensure you have an A-team of professionals like DeLaney and Billy did?
